Organs under the lens
We learned about how systems are made of organs, organs of tissues, tissue of cells, and that cells have organelles that help the cell function, which are all made up of molecules. We explored a few of these organelles, such as the nucleus, which houses the cell’s DNA, mitochondria, which provide energy, and the cell membrane, which acts as the barrier. The experiment we performed was to look at various biological specimens (feather, human and cat hair, mushrooms, leaves, flowers) under the microscope. Sophia, Eidegen and Katya all learned how to use the microscope very well, and became astute at using them quickly.
