Happiest Thanksgiving to you all! Here is the summary from last Wednesday!
This week we learned how atmospheric carbon dioxide causes global warming. First we determined the molecular structure of carbon dioxide, building models from beads and pipe cleaners. Then we used a computer model to explore how carbon dioxide’s structure allows it to absorb and re-emit heat from Earth. We conducted an experiment with glass jars, carbon dioxide, and a heat lamp to demonstrate this warming effect.
