Comparing Clam to Fish

What a great session today. Your girls have done a comparative study of a clam to a fish. They examined the exterior of a clam with its rings as a sign of growth, then looked into the inner anatomy of it, located all the essential organs. We introduced them to the anterior and posterior ( new vocab) parts of both, the clam and the fish and then moved to compare the purge fish with the whiting fish. We have been able to dissect the whole spine of a purge together with its brain, we examined the fish’s mouth, skin, scales and looked under the gills plate. To add to your girls science skill Michelle has explained to them all the functions of different dissecting tools. Your girls are very brave, incredibly endured and inquisitive!
