Our students continued their on-paper design of their spaceship.

They had to make important decisions as to what kind of food to bring (can we get necessary nutrition from just plants? What trade-offs will bringing animals incur?), and how they wanted their shipboard day/night cycle to work. We spent a little time exploring different propulsion methods as well (and their pro’s and con’s), namely traditional rockets, solar sails, an initial velocity launcher or cannon, and ion drives.
