Can we produce enough food for everyone? How can we feed the world's growing human population, and do we produce enough food for everyone now?

During this session we considered not only the effects of agriculture on the environment, but the benefits and challenges of a number of different solutions to global hunger like reducing our food waste and meat intake.

We thought critically about the efficiency of producing animal products for human consumption, considering alternatives like a vegan diet and lab-grown meat.

We even tried chips made from crickets!  What does this mean? Can we transition to a bug-based diet? Questions like these involve not just science, but politics, culture, and economics. From being able to weigh the pros and cons of vertical farming, to understanding the challenges of transporting crops long distances, one thing is for sure: these kids are on their way to finding answers to the questions of tomorrow.
