The Ups and Downs: Boundless Energy - Part 2

This Monday we focused on the concepts Kinetic energy and Potential energy, and working with velocity and acceleration equations. We reviewed the concepts of simple projectile motion and we determined that we could determine the Hight of a ball launched straight up, given a set amount of energy.

We determined the appropriate length “x” to pull down on our elastic potential energy testing devices and we recorded the time of flight results from each device.

We collected the time of flight data from each system and on next Monday we will calculate the max heights and max speeds, then graph the calculated data. We will also use the collected data to calculate the elastic spring constant of each system. This information will become very when we start doing experiments with projectile motion in 2 dimensions.
