What is perspective?
In today’s introductory session to The Art and Science of Seeing, we kicked off our discussion by talking about perspective. What is it and how does it shape our understanding of the world?
We then experimented with sight sticks, a visual aid used in life drawing to determine measurements, proportions, and angles, and observed how the objects around us changed as our positions to them changed and the differences of closing one eye vs seeing with both eyes.
We ended our session by touching upon linear perspective, a depth cue, and learning three drawing techniques to accurately render differently dimensional rectangles and cubes.
