Saturday Oceans

This week, we first learned about the foundations of ocean mapping, when we discussed the history of ocean navigation. This is where oceans and stars meet, because before sonar and GPS open-water navigation depended on accurate star maps. We then went back to our ocean mapping activity. The girls created topographic maps of their sections of the ocean floor. The water was dark, so they weren't able to see the bottom of their "seafloor" until we dumped out the water. They each did an excellent job with their unique sections!
