Proto-stars and proper stars
As we begin learning about the life cycle of a star, we started looking at the process that get gaseous clouds moving to create a whirling vortex of space dust which eventually results in a proto-star with a lot of built up pressure.
What sets apart a proto-star from a proper star, you ask? Thermo-nuclear fusion. We fused our atoms to build heavier and heavier elements, tracking what elements we could add together to get there. Then, we back-tracked using Helium to get a sense of the actual fusions that occur.
Next week, we will learn about the nature of stars and the systems around stars, specifically looking at a star named Sol!
