A letter of thanks

Dear Parents,

After lots of discovery and exploration of the skeletal system your kids have been moved towards an engineering of the parts of the skeletal system that allow movement - the joints!!!
They have watched an artist video on all 6 basic joints and have engineered two of them: the hinge as well as the ball and socket. For each of them thay had a choice of different types of material: wood, thread, screws, tape, rubber bands, sponge, cardboard rolls,… They have ALL done a GREAT job of a 3D model of a hinge joint. Last week they have modeled a ball and socket joint from clay. It was dry for today and they have measured the range of motion for both of their joints.

Next week Wednesday is the Thanksgiving assemble, no science, I assume?

In December, we will have 2 sessions only (I am going to London on 12/16!). The budding human anatomy experts will be adding ligaments, tendons and muscles till the end of the year. I am truly impressed with their level of engagement and progress. If any commends come home, please, do not hesitate to send them my way!

Thank you for sharing your kids with me!

warmly,
Joanna
