Earth and sun
This week, we built on our knowledge of the Sun to talk about the relationship between the Sun and the Earth.
We talked about the solar eclipse and how this event can occur. We also talked about the distance between the Earth and the Sun. We also briefly looked at the idea of life on other planets: what are the factors that determine if a planet is hospitable?
Then, we used the Sun models we made last lesson to create a model of the Sun/Earth/Moon system. The girls worked through concepts of size and distance while working through the challenges of working with various crafting materials.
